|CEGABA||CARBOXYETHYL AMINOBUTYRIC ACID||4386-03-2||LIQUID / POWDER|
Carboxyethyl-γ-aminobutyric acid is a synthesized amino acid, naturally found in the cerebral tissue of mammalians and particularly in human cerebrospinal liquid; it is prepared by a proprietary synthetic proceeding and no animal source is involved. CEGABA seems to be the intermediate of an alternative metabolic pathway in the biosynthesis of the neuromodulator GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) from polyamines; the biological role of polyamines is still incompletely elucidated, but their fundamental characteristic is the ability to stimulate cell growth and cell proliferation. Differently from these polyamines, which show to be very toxic when administered in vivo as rapidly transformed by amino-oxidases into toxic metabolites, CEGABA has demonstrated high tolerability both in vivo and in vitro, still maintaining its role of cell growth and proliferation promoter on some specialised mammalians cells. The efficacy of CEGABA in cosmetics is therefore related to its activity of induction and stimulation of the cell metabolism.
SUGGESTED USES: hair treatments (lotions and shampoos), anti-wrinkles products (creams and gels).
