CHARACTERISTICS

Water-soluble extract obtained by enzymatic extraction of Spirulina platensis Geitler (Arthrospira platensis). This filamentous cyanobacterium not only is a source of vitamins and minerals but is also considered one of the best source of non animal proteins; it additionally contains a number of pigments (phycocyanins in particular, carotenoids and chlorophylls) with antioxidant activity. This extract has been specifically designed for cosmetic applications; it has a moisturizing effect and exhibits a significant inhibition activity against lipase enzyme, making it an excellent active ingredient for the formulation of oily and acne-prone skin and anti-odor products. The extract is available aslo from Italian organic spirulina.
