CHARACTERISTICS

Water-soluble extract of burdock root obtained by extraction with cocamidopropyl betaine. This plant, native to temperate regions of Europe and Asia, has long been traditionally used in folk medicine. Some studies demonstrated that burdock roots contain bioactive components with anti-inflammatory and free-radical scavenging activities besides a high content of inulin and a mucilage. This extract contains the unmodified, water dispersible components naturally present in the plant root, available for the formulations of a wide range of scalp and skin cleansing products.
